Country house re-imagined.

2017

Location: Samford Valley, Brisbane, Queensland

The Sunset House is a complete rethink and renovation of an existing 1980’s quasi farm house. Set on a slightly sloping and moderately wooded property the original house like many of its era addressed only the basic considerations of internal planning and external form. The key moves for this project were all about the creation of an ease and joy of living for a young family.

Through its connection to site, simple plan resolution, light filled volumes, and controlled use of materials and finishes the house has now become a unique and individual home suited perfectly to the requirements and future of this family.
