Warm and cosy timber-based office refurbishment.
A small office refurbishment in Brisbane’s Spring Hill, this project was an exercise in simplicity and efficient planning. The establishment of a new start-up company required the creation of a highly functional, warm and welcoming practical space that supported the imagery of the brand, and thus the final result presents a simplistically professional yet inviting workspace. The creative use of a limited, warm material palette led to an emphasis on the use of warm blackbutt timber, featured prominently throughout the design and ultimately, this is the element that draws together each individual space- be it a room, desk, niche, or nook- together into a cohesive whole. These small niches and nooks further provide discreet spaces for display and personalization- essential in maintaining the welcoming nature of the refurbishment, but further catering to the needs and small size of the office and company.
