We had the opportunity to breath new life into this 100 year old Queenslander in West End. The home fronted busy Dornoch Terrace and as such living areas were moved the rear of the building. Great views to the south over Highgate Hill were exploited with a new entertaining deck and daybed space.
With the living spaces to the south, an operable roof system was incorporated to allow both natural light and sunshine into these spaces. When open the spaces breath beautifully, and when closed or partially closed, the roof system provides the necessary weather protection.
A large lap pool was built to the side of the existing home feeding off the new living spaces.
