Family beach retreat.
Located on the Pottsville beachfront, Elanora House occupies a sloping site that rises to meet the crest of the dune and give way to expansive views over the Pacific Ocean.
Intended as a family weekender, the brief called for a home that could comfortably accommodate a family of 5, along with their extended family in a way that allowed for both communal activity and opportunity for privacy and retreat.
The house has been divided into two distinct wings to provide both separation when extended family or friends visit, and to allow the landscape to continue to fall through the site. The staggered plan arrangement offers a variety of external space that can perch the occupants out on the edge to take in the full panoramic ocean views, or provide outdoor spaces sheltered from the harsh sun and strong winds when needed.
