A parkland barbeque shelter for the Australand Cova Development on Hope Island.
Aspect was commissioned for this urban design project to develop a scheme that could house barbeque facilities and seating within a waterfront setting on Hope Island. A clean industrial aesthetic was achieved through the use of simple and robust materials which also lend themselves to easy maintenance and the ability to withstand continual use.
Solar louvres across the extent of the roof permit daylight and allow for natural ventilation while omitting harsh western sun.
The adjacent boardwalk meanwhile acts similarly to a jetty providing a vantage point to overlook the waterfront and sit at the water's edge.
