A new family home that seeks to serve both as a private residence and commercial opportunity

Costin Street is a project in the intital stages of development. Centrally located in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley and only two doors down from the Tivoli this site has been the current owners' home for ten years. The owners approached Aspect to assist in building a feasible brief for the future of the site and their home. They sought to build a new home on the site so that they can continue living there while adding a second component.

The idea was to create a family home supported by commercial activities provided in flexible space; space that could be used commercially, as a home office, rental apartment or the like. An internal courtyard would provide external space for the home along with separation from ‘private’ and ‘public’ activities, while parking would be contained to the rear ground floor, presenting a commercial face to the street frontage.
