A 12 unit development in Ashgrove, Brisbane completed in December 2014.
Located in a low density residential suburb the design of these apartments sought to take advantage of natural amenity and provide direct street access to as many apartments as possible. This functional approach creates a lively street address and offers a greater sense of ownership to occupants.
Internally, an open plan layout orientated to the edges of the building visually connect occupants to their surroundings, while the addition of timber screens maintain a sensitive street address and provide shelter and privacy to outdoor living spaces.
The use of brick and timber respects the character of the local area while a simple material palate creates a clean and contemporary aesthetic.
