Creating new experiences and connections for a family home
This renovation of an existing inner-city Brisbane home sought to enhance small but vital parts of the building, adding value to the family home for both depth of experience, and the possibility of monetary compensation in coming years. This was accomplished through two main connections and renovations- the home’s entryway, and a small courtyard. The enhancement of the entry sequence was accomplished using warm timbers- in board and slat form, alongside paved stones. The introduction of the leafy surrounds into the home in a safe and- most importantly inviting- way through the courtyard and fireplace is accomplished with a rustic stone wall and small garden that reaches for the leafy tress surrounding the house, bringing together the outside and inside of the home in an inobtrusive way.
